CBI issues notice to former MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan

Bapatla, June 21: The CBI served another notice to former MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan for reportedly finding fault with verdict of the Andhra Pradesh High Court regarding Dr Sudhakar case. He was asked to appear before the CBI officials in Vijayawada on Wednesday and give explanation to them.

For the earlier notice, Amanchi appeared before the CBI court in Visakhapatnam on February 12, 2022 and gave in writing that he only expressed his views on the High Court verdict and did not make any adverse remarks on judges in a public meeting organised to remember former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

On the directions of the High Court, the CBI filed contempt cases against Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, Deputy Chief Minister Narayana Swamy, YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy, Bapatla Lok Sabha MP Suresh and 98 others for posting comments on social media criticising judgement of handing over Dr Sudhakar case to the CBI.
