Minor gang-r*pe case: Petition filed in HC seeking CBI probe
Hyderabad, June 17: Social activist Uma Mahendra filed a petition in the Telangana High Court urging to order CBI investigation into minor gang-rape case at Jubilee Hills here. In the plea, the petitioner said that the probe by the premier investigating agency will bring facts to light. Uma Mahendra informed the top court that a high-level probe is needed as sons of ruling party politicians are involved in the case.
The gang-rape of a minor has created sensation in Telugu states. Opposition alleged that the TRS government has been trying to shield the accused while the ruling party leaders said that the police are probing the case with transparency.
