CM KCR names three TRS Rajya Sabha candidates

Hyderabad, May 18: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday declared names of three TRS candidates for Rajya Sabha nominations. They are Hyderabad-based Hetero Group Chairman Bandi Parthasaradhi Reddy, Namasthe Telangana Chairman and Managing Director D. Damodar Rao and TRS leader Vaddiraju Ravichandra.

The seats fell vacant with the retirement of D. Srinivas, and Captain V. Lakshmikantha Rao while Banda Prakash resigned to the Rajya Sabha membership after he was elected as TRS MLC under MLAs quota.

Balancing community and loyalty equations, the CM selected two OC candidates Parthasaradhi Reddy and Damodar Rao, and one BC candidate Vaddiraju Ravichandra. Damodar Rao has been close associate of KCR since latter launched the TRS party whereas Parthasaradhi is TRS sympathiser. Ravichandra had quit the Congress in 2019 and joined the TRS. It is not clear as to who will be nominated for the Rajya Sabha seat lying vacant with the resignation of Banda Prakash.
