KCR faults Centre for directing funds to villages without state govt’s interference

Hyderabad, May 18: While reviewing the Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, principal secretaries, and district collectors at Pragathi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao came down heavily on the Central government for directing funds to villages without intervention of the state government. He mentioned that state governments can only understand ground realities and allocation of funds to Central schemes being implemented in villages should be at sole discretion of states.

The CM flayed Modi government for trying to distribute day-to-day MGNREGS funds to beneficiaries. “Instead of interfering in the duties of state governments, the Centre should focus on improving infrastructure and other facilities in education and health sectors throughout India,” he suggested.

KCR stated that there are villages and towns in India which are facing power outages. “Still, villages are not getting drinking water and water for irrigation,” he added and advised the Centre to focus on supplying uninterrupted electricity and provide sufficient drinking water to people.
