High Court adjourns hearing on Viveka murder case accused bail plea

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): The Andhra Pradesh High Court has adjourned its decision on the bail of the accused in the murder case of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s paternal uncle and former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy.

It is learnt that Devireddy Shivshankar Reddy, Umashankar Reddy and Sunil Kumar Yadav, who were arrested in the case, had approached the High Court seeking bail. The High Court, which has already heard the petitions, has taken up the hearing yet again on Thursday.

The counsel for the petitioners told the court that the CBI had filed a charge sheet in the case and there was no possibility of his clients influencing the witnesses, so, he urged the court to grant bail. However, the CBI counsel contended that there was a danger of the accused influencing the witnesses if they were granted bail.

The court, which intervened at this juncture, asked the CBI counsel how much time it would take for the investigation of the case. The CBI lawyer told the court that he will ask the investigating officers and inform the court of the details. Therefore, the court adjourned the case for next Thursday.
