India needs alternative agenda not political front: KCR

Hyderabad, April 27: Addressing the participants of TRS plenary at HICC here, TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday said that India needs an alternative agenda and not a political front. He expressed anguish over people in India are unable to eat two meals a day even after 75 years of freedom.
 
KCR recalled meeting Communist national leaders, who came to Hyderabad to attend a conference. “They have told me to join hands with them with an agenda of defeating the BJP at the Centre. I told them that it is a waste agenda and I will not support them,” he explained. 
 
The TRS chief further said that he told Prime Minister Narendra Modi in NITI Aayog meeting that 65,000 tmcft of water is available in rivers flowing in India but only utilising less than 30,000 tmcft of water for drinking, irrigation and power generation purpose. “Every village and town will get drinking water and uninterrupted power supply if available water is used effectively,” he mentioned.
 
KCR explained as to how Singapore achieved success without having natural resources. “Majority states including PM Modi’s native state is facing power cuts but Telangana is providing power without interruption,” he added.
