Rousing reception for workers in Amaravati as construction resumes

Hyderabad: Captial farmers are on cloud nine with the resumption of construction work in Amaravati, which was halted after YSRCP came to power. Workers, who came to do the work, were accorded a warm welcome by the farmers with roses. They felt they did the right thing by approaching the Andhra Pradesh High Court and expressed their happiness on the occasion that justice had been rendered to them. They also want the flats to be handed over to them by developing and providing them with infrastructure.

The construction of houses for MLAs and MLCs, which began in Rayapudi, during the last government tenure, has come to a standstill after the YSRCP came to power. However, there has been a resurgence of activity in the capital in the wake of the recent High Court judgment. Authorities have taken steps to complete the remaining work of the MLA and MLC residences.

As part of this, the work was handed back to the NCC, which had previously constructed the buildings. The workers reached Rayapudi and engaged in tilling, laying of water pipes and electrical work. The construction materials have already reached Rayapudi. The construction company said that more workers would reach Rayapudi from Monday and the construction work would be completed and handed over to the government as soon as possible.
