Maha Dharna: Piyush Goyal insulted people of Telangana, says KCR

Participating in Maha Dharna at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi on Monday, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao came down heavily on BJP-led Modi government for refusing to procure the entire stock of paddy produced in Telangana. He slammed Union Minister Piyush Goyal for insulting people of Telangana by asking them to inculcate the habit of eating broken rice. 
 
The CM recalled that the then Central government had forcibly merged region of Telangana in Andhra Pradesh and kept several irrigation projects pending for several decades. “There are 30 lakh borewells in Telangana for cultivation of farm lands,” he mentioned. Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait also took part in the protest.
 
KCR further stated that the Telangana farmers have spent Rs 50,000 crores towards digging of borewells, electricity lines to farm lands and cultivation. He expressed anger over the Central government for insulting Telangana farmers when they are raising paddy crop in one crore acres.
