Speaker Tammineni makes satirical comments on BJP chief Somu Veerraju

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram said that BJP state president Somu Veerraju should have embarked on three-day ‘Jalam Kosam Uttarandhra Jana Poru Yatra’ in North Andhra after securing funds for various state projects from the BJP-led Modi government. 
 
Speaking to the media on Friday, he slammed the state BJP leaders for not exerting pressure on the Centre to stop privatisation of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). He mentioned that disinvestment in the VSP would adversely impact thousands of people. “The AP BJP functionaries should impress upon the Centre for expediting the process of beginning operations of South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone in Visakhapatnam and getting funds for the Polavaram Project as per the revised estimates,” he stated.
 
Tammineni slammed the BJP for blaming the YSRCP government for delay in construction of Polavaram without allocating funds. “The ongoing yatra would have been more effective if the state BJP unit have taken up ahead of Assembly elections,” he advised.
