KTR inaugurates Wipro's fastest soap manufacturing unit in Telangana's Maheshwaram

Hyderabad: Wipro launched its manufacturing unit in Telangana on Tuesday. The Rs 300 crore unit was set up by Wipro in Maheshwaram, a suburb of Hyderabad. The unit was formally inaugurated by Minister for IT and Municipal Administration KTR,  along with Wipro founder Chairman Azim Premji. Education Minister Sabita Indrareddy was also present on the occasion.

Wipro will manufacture soft-touch fabric conditioners, along with Santoor soaps, at this state-of-the-art unit in Maheshwaram. The unit has the capacity to produce 700 Santoor soaps per minute, company representatives said. The company also announced that this is the first time in the country that it has started producing soaps so fast. KTR said the unit would employ 900 people, 90 per cent of whom are locals.
