Revanth demands special team comprising CBI, ED, NCB sleuths should probe drugs case

TPCC president Revanth Reddy on Tuesday said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took over 2017 drugs case after he filed a PIL in Telangana High Court. He slammed the TRS government for not handing over details of the case to the ED. The ED already filed a contempt petition in the High Court, he added.

Revanth has claimed that Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K Taraka Rama Rao took control over Telugu film industry after names of several Tollywood celebrities have surfaced in drugs case. Prior to that, KTR never had relations with Tollywood personalities, he said.

The Congress leader mentioned that officials of the Excise and Prohibition Department have no expertise to deal with cases related to drugs. He demanded that the latest drugs case should be probed by a special team comprising CBI, DRI, ED and NCB officials. To a question, he denied of exerting pressure on officials to release his nephew S. Pranay Reddy, who was caught in drug bust at Pudding and Mink pub in police raid.
