Govt-employees' faceoff in AP: Deputy Chief Minister finds fault with striking staff

Expressing his unhappiness over striking government employees, Deputy Chief Minister Narayanaswamy found fault with them for not accepting the PRC recommendations issued by the Andhra Pradesh government.

He urged the employees to respect the decision of the government. In particular, what if those in the teaching profession speak ill about the government? he questioned. The teaching profession is said to be noble, but the way the teachers spoke against the Chief Minister was not fair.

Do the children of teachers studying in government schools, he questioned? the Deputy Chief Minister alleged that the government teachers are drawing salaries ranging between Rs 70,000 and Rs 1 lakh, but sending their children to private schools. Can't you send your children to government schools where you are teaching? he asked.
