This Feels Like a Success Meet, Not Pre Release": Ram Charan Delivers Emotional Speech at 'Peddi' Event in Vijayawada
The grand pre-release event of Global Star Ram Charan's upcoming rural sports drama 'Peddi' turned into a massive celebration on Monday in Vijayawada. Addressing a massive crowd of enthusiastic fans, Ram Charan delivered an emotionally charged speech, stating that the atmosphere in Vijayawada felt less like a pre-release function and more like a post-release success meet.
The star-studded event was graced by AP Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) as chief guests.
Expressing his deep gratitude to the fans who waited for hours in intense heat, Ram Charan recalled his family's strong emotional bond with the city. "Vijayawada is a lucky city for us. Many of my father's (Megastar Chiranjeevi) blockbuster movie celebrations took place here. We came here to carry that sentiment and luck forward with us," he said.
A Once-in-a-Decade Script
Speaking about the film, Ram Charan described 'Peddi' as a milestone in his cinematic journey. "As an actor, I hear many stories, but Peddi touched my heart deeply. This is a phenomenal story that comes once in a decade. I am incredibly grateful to director Buchi Babu Sana's guru, Sukumar garu, for bringing this project to me. It will remain a permanent asset in my film library," the actor shared.
He explained that 'Peddi' is not just about a man's rise, but a gripping narrative of how a fallen man fights back to stand on his feet. He noted that after Magadheera, Rangasthalam, and RRR, 'Peddi' was the only film that made him excited to look forward to the shooting schedule every single day.
High Praise for Buchi Babu and Janhvi Kapoor
Predicting a stellar future for director Buchi Babu Sana, Ram Charan declared, "Mark my words, Buchi Babu will definitely be among the top 3 or 4 directors in India in the near future." He praised the director's vision and execution of the emotional sports drama.
The Global Star also showered rich praises on the leading lady, Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of the legendary late actress Sridevi. "Looking at Janhvi, it feels like a piece of the moon has fallen beside me. Sridevi garu would be extremely proud of her wherever she is. I wholeheartedly wish that Janhvi becomes an even bigger star than her mother," Charan said.
Reaffirming his commitment to his fanbase, Ram Charan made a passionate promise: "I make films only for you. I am ready to shed my blood, if necessary, to entertain you. Being born as Chiranjeevi garu's son and Kalyan (Pawan Kalyan) babai's nephew, cinema is all I know. I will continue to entertain you until my last breath."
Director Buchi Babu Sana Emotional Speech
Director Buchi Babu Sana delivered an equally moving speech, stating that the film is a deeply emotional sports drama rather than a routine commercial flick. He revealed that the final 40 minutes of the second half feature an extraordinary performance by Ram Charan that will leave the audience in tears. "If anyone asks me ten years from now how I remember this movie, my answer will simply be: 'Ram Charan'," Buchi Babu stated.
Peddi, which features legendary composer A.R. Rahman as the music director and is produced by Satish Kilaru, is scheduled to hit theatres on June 4.
