TDP Leaders Pay Tribute to Lal Jan Basha on His Death Anniversary
Senior leaders of the Telugu Desam Party paid rich tributes to Lal Jan Basha, a senior leader of the party and former Member of Parliament, on the occasion of his death anniversary. A special programme was organised on Friday at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri to commemorate his contributions.
During the ceremony, TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao, along with other key leaders, offered floral tributes to a portrait of Lal Jan Basha.
Speaking at the event, Palla Srinivasa Rao praised Lal Jan Basha’s invaluable services to the party, stating, “His contributions as a Politburo member and senior leader are ever-memorable.” He recalled that Lal Jan Basha had constantly worked for the welfare of the Muslim minority community and had provided exceptional service to the people as the Member of Parliament from Guntur. He further noted that Basha’s death in a road accident in 2013 was an irreparable loss to the party. He urged party workers to carry forward the ideals that Lal Jan Basha had stood for.
Former MLC and TDP Central Office Secretary Paruchuri Ashok Babu also addressed the gathering and described Lal Jan Basha as a great political warrior. He pointed out that Basha, who came from a minority background, had once defeated a strong leader like N.G. Ranga, showcasing his political capability. He noted that Lal Jan Basha had worked selflessly since the party’s inception in 1983 and was one of the very few leaders from the minority community who gained recognition across the state. He added, “We will all move forward with inspiration drawn from his life.”
Several leaders and party workers attended the event, including A.V. Ramana, Paruchuri Krishna, Nadendla Brahmam, Gottamukkala Raghurama Krishna Raju, Patarla Ramesh, Satyavani, Valluru Kiran, and Pulichinna.
