Satisfaction Cannot Be Bought with Income; It Comes from Helping Others: CM Chandrababu
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that true satisfaction, which cannot be attained through income alone, is achieved only by helping society. Speaking on Thursday at a private hotel in Vijayawada during an interaction with industrialists on the “People’s Partnership for Poverty Eradication” (P4) initiative, Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of contributing to the upliftment of underprivileged families.
Nara Chandrababu Naidu said, “In the past, I asked industrialists to invest in the state. Now, I am requesting them not only to bring investments but also to support the poor.” He urged participants to act as mentors under the P4 program and assist in the development of impoverished families.
Reflecting on his long political career, Nara Chandrababu Naidu remarked, “I have witnessed many reforms, but none have provided the kind of satisfaction that the P4 initiative offers. Some have benefited from economic reforms and reached higher positions, while others have fallen behind. Now, it is our collective responsibility to eliminate these disparities. Even a small act of assistance by those in privileged positions can provide immense support to those in poverty.”
He explained that he personally adopted 250 families to demonstrate the intent of not merely offering welfare through words but through action. He added, “From the government's side, we are implementing various welfare schemes such as pensions, the ‘Thalliki Vandhanam’ program, the ‘Deepam’ scheme, and free bus travel for women starting August 15. Alongside these efforts, I ask that you also take responsibility to help adopted families enhance their skills so they can double their incomes.”
Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s appeal received significant support from industrialists and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who attended the event. Mohan Reddy, an industrialist from Prakasam district, committed to adopting 729 families. Several other NRIs and local entrepreneurs also pledged to adopt hundreds of families and schools. For those unable to provide financial assistance, Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced a “co-sponsor” system that would allow them to contribute their knowledge and skills.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary to the Government Vijayanand, P4 Foundation Vice Chairman Kutumba Rao, NRT Chairman Vemuri Ravi, and others.
