Police Take Vallabhaneni Vamsi into Custody
Former Gannavaram MLA and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi has been taken into custody by the police in connection with a case involving the alleged distribution of fake housing patta documents in Bapulapadu Mandal. Vamsi, who is currently on remand at the Vijayawada Sub-Jail, was taken into custody on Friday morning and transported to the Kankipadu Police Station for questioning.
According to officials, the custody was sought to enable a more in-depth investigation into the case. The police petitioned the court for two days of custody, which the judiciary approved after reviewing the request. Consequently, Vamsi was transferred to the Kankipadu station under police supervision.
The case stems from allegations that ineligible individuals were issued fake land pattas in Bapulapadu, bypassing legitimate beneficiaries. A case had already been registered against Vallabhaneni Vamsi in this regard. Previously, the police filed a prisoner transit (PT) warrant, arrested him, and presented him before the court. Following the hearing, the court remanded him to judicial custody, and he was sent to the Vijayawada Sub-Jail.
In addition to this case, Vallabhaneni Vamsi is reportedly facing multiple other allegations and remains a remand prisoner. Authorities believe that the current two-day custodial interrogation may yield critical information related to the fake patta case. Police anticipate that further revelations will emerge during the ongoing questioning.
