SC Dismisses Petitions Filed by Raj Kesireddy and His Father in Liquor Case
In a significant development in the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam case, the Supreme Court has dismissed the petitions filed by Raj Kesireddy, a prime accused in the case, and his father Upendra Reddy. The petitions challenged the legality of Raj Kesireddy’s arrest and alleged procedural violations by the authorities.

Upendra Reddy had approached the Supreme Court claiming that the officials did not follow proper legal procedures during his son’s arrest. Raj Kesireddy also filed a petition asserting that his arrest was unlawful.

The bench led by Justice Parthivala had earlier heard arguments in the matter on the 19th of this month and had reserved its judgment. In the ruling delivered recently, the Supreme Court rejected the petitions, stating that since Raj Kesireddy is already under arrest and in police custody, he should instead file a bail petition before the appropriate court. The court thereby declined to entertain the current petitions.
