Saiyami Kher Makes Shocking Allegations About Casting Couch in Tollywood

Casting couch has long been a topic of discussion within the film industry. Recently, renowned actress Saiyami Kher shared a bitter experience from the early stages of her career. She revealed that a female agent from the Telugu film industry had asked her to “adjust” in order to secure film opportunities. Saiyami Kher stated that she clearly told the agent that she does not engage in such activities and that she has personal boundaries she would never cross.

Saiyami Kher began her film career in 2015 with the Telugu movie Rey, and entered Hindi cinema in 2016 with Mirzya. She went on to act in films like Mauli, Choked, Wild Dog, and Ghoomer, as well as web series such as Special OPS and Faadu. In a recent interview, Saiyami Kher expressed satisfaction with the opportunities she has received, but recalled one particular incident from her early days that caused her considerable distress.

Speaking about the incident, Saiyami Kher said, “During the early days of my career, a Telugu film agent met me. She told me that one has to ‘adjust’ in certain ways to get movie roles. I was shocked that a woman would speak to another woman in this manner.”

Saiyami Kher mentioned that she initially pretended not to understand the agent’s comments, but when the agent repeated the suggestion several times, she responded, “Excuse me, I believe you're suggesting something inappropriate. I have certain boundaries, and I will never cross them.” Saiyami Kher noted that this was the first and only time she received such a proposition from a woman during her film career.

Most recently, Saiyami Kher appeared in an action drama titled Zaat, playing the role of a sub-inspector. In 2023, her performances in Ghoomer and 8 A.M. Metro earned her critical acclaim. She is currently active in both Hindi and Telugu cinema.
