Operation Sindoor: Owaisi Condemns Trolling of Vikram Misri
All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Hyderabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the social media trolling targeting Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. The trolling emerged in the aftermath of the government's announcement regarding a ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, where Misri, acting as the official spokesperson, communicated the government’s stance on the developments.
In the tense environment during Operation Sindoor, Vikram Misri, along with Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, effectively presented the government's position to the international community. Responding to the trolling, Asaduddin Owaisi commented on social media platform X (formerly Twitter): “Vikram Misri is a dedicated, honest, and hardworking diplomat. He toils day and night for our country. It must be remembered that government officials act on the directives of the executive. They should not be blamed for decisions taken by the executive or the political leadership that governs the country.”
Vikram Misri, an alumnus of Hindu College in Delhi and XLRI in Jamshedpur, worked in the advertising sector for some time before joining the Indian Foreign Service. He has served in various Indian diplomatic missions abroad and in the Prime Minister’s Office. He assumed office as Foreign Secretary in July of last year.
Since the onset of ‘Operation Sindoor’, Vikram Misri has received widespread praise for his conduct, articulation, and firm responses to remarks made by Pakistan during government media briefings.
