Palle Sindhura Reddy Becomes Emotional While Praising Balakrishna’s Greatness
At a civic felicitation ceremony held for renowned actor and Hindupur Member of the Legislative Assembly Nandamuri Balakrishna, Palle Sindhura Reddy, MLA from Sri Sathya Sai district, delivered an emotional tribute, recalling his greatness and his assistance to her family with visible tears on stage.
Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to speak at the event, Palle Sindhura Reddy praised Nandamuri Balakrishna’s multifaceted talent. She highlighted his political achievements, including his hat-trick victory from the Hindupur constituency and the development initiatives that have made the constituency a model for others. “Hats off to your dedication, sir. We have so much to learn from you,” said Palle Sindhura Reddy.
Describing his commitment to public service, she specifically mentioned the services being provided through the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Institute, an initiative associated with Nandamuri Balakrishna. She recounted a deeply personal experience from 2017 when her mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer and was treated at the Basavatarakam hospital. “Balakrishna sir personally informed the CEO and ensured my mother-in-law received care as though it were provided at home,” said Palle Sindhura Reddy.
She remembered that her mother-in-law passed away on August 30, 2018. “Even though Harikrishna garu passed away the previous day and he was in mourning, Balakrishna garu still came to the hospital, shared our grief, stayed with us until she was taken in the ambulance, and offered us courage. He said, ‘Forgive me for not being able to send sister back alive.’ The help he extended that day is something we can never forget,” she said with tears.
She also recalled an earlier incident from 2015, when her uncle was unwell and staying at the Ministers’ Quarters. She described how Nandamuri Balakrishna visited personally without security personnel or even his footwear. “Usually, leaders arrive with gunmen, but he left even his slippers outside the gate before entering. He is a man of such culture. No matter how high he rises, humility remains his hallmark,” said Palle Sindhura Reddy.
She praised Nandamuri Balakrishna as a man of integrity, stating that he followed in the footsteps of his father, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, and brought distinction to all three domains of politics, cinema, and public service. She remarked that Balakrishna brought honour to the award he received and emphasized that today’s youth have much to learn from his values. Concluding her speech, Palle Sindhura Reddy said it was a matter of pride to serve as an MLA from the same region as Nandamuri Balakrishna and extended her thanks to the Hindupur municipal division for its support in making the event a success.
