In a high-octane clash against Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batting line-up delivered a commanding performance. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, KKR posted a formidable total of 206 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Andre Russell played a blistering innings, while young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi impressed with a composed knock.

Despite losing Sunil Narine early for 11 runs, KKR gained momentum through opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who scored a quickfire 35 off 25 balls, including four boundaries and a six. He formed a crucial partnership with captain Ajinkya Rahane, who contributed 30 runs from 24 deliveries, hitting one four and two sixes. However, Mahesh Theekshana dismissed Gurbaz, and Riyan Parag sent Rahane back to the pavilion.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi then anchored the innings, scoring 44 runs from 31 balls with five boundaries. Attempting a big shot, he was dismissed by Jofra Archer. At this stage, Andre Russell launched a fierce attack on the Rajasthan bowlers, remaining unbeaten with 57 runs off just 25 deliveries, including four fours and six sixes. In the final overs, he found support from Rinku Singh, who remained not out on 19 from six balls, striking one four and two sixes, pushing KKR past the 200-run mark.

Among Rajasthan’s bowlers, Jofra Archer, Yudhvir Singh, Mahesh Theekshana, and Riyan Parag claimed one wicket each. Akash Madhwal proved expensive, conceding 50 runs in just three overs. Jofra Archer (4 overs, 30 runs) and Riyan Parag (3 overs, 21 runs) bowled with relative discipline. During the powerplay, KKR scored 56 runs for the loss of one wicket.
