Meerut Woman Leaves Husband Over Beard Dispute, Elopes with Brother-in-Law
An unusual incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman left her husband and eloped with her brother-in-law over a seemingly minor issue. The incident occurred in the Lisadi Gate area of Meerut.

Maulana Shakeer married Arshi six months ago. Arshi, who has studied up to Class 12, is currently pursuing higher education at a college. On the very first night after their wedding, Arshi objected to Shakeer’s beard and asked him to shave it off. However, Maulana Shakeer firmly refused, stating that he would not shave his beard. This disagreement became a recurring point of contention between the couple.

Meanwhile, Arshi began to develop feelings for her brother-in-law, who often appeared clean-shaven and was frequently present at home when Shakeer went out for work. During these times, only Arshi’s mother-in-law and her brother-in-law remained in the house with her. Over time, Arshi grew closer to her brother-in-law, and eventually, the two eloped.

When Shakeer informed both his and Arshi’s parents about the incident, Arshi’s family declared that they no longer had any ties with her. Shocked by his wife's actions, Shakeer approached the police. Based on his complaint, authorities have registered a missing person case and initiated an investigation.
