BJP Workers Hurl Eggs at Congress Office in Protest Against YS Sharmila

Tensions escalated at the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) headquarters in Vijayawada following remarks made by APCC President Y. S. Sharmila regarding a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In response to Sharmila’s comments targeting the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attempted to lay siege to the Congress party office.

Protesting her statements, BJP leaders and workers raised slogans against Y. S. Sharmila and demanded an immediate apology for her remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In retaliation, Congress party leaders and workers shouted slogans against the BJP, leading to a heated verbal confrontation between the two groups.

During the confrontation, some BJP workers attacked the Congress office using eggs. As tensions heightened, the police intervened promptly, dispersing both groups. Several BJP workers who tried to enter the party office were taken into custody. Due to timely action by the police, the situation was brought under control.

In the context of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Y. S. Sharmila alleged that national intelligence agencies were functioning solely to protect Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah take responsibility for the incident and resign from their positions.
