Though I Am Fit, Police Avoided One-Day Custody Citing Blood Pressure: IPS Officer PSR in Court
Senior IPS officer P. Seetharam Anjaneyulu (PSR) made striking remarks in court, stating that despite being in good health and physically fit, the police did not take him into custody for one day, citing high blood pressure as the reason. He made these comments on Tuesday while appearing before the ACB Court in Vijayawada, following the conclusion of CID custody.

When the judge asked whether the police had mistreated him during custody, P. Seetharam Anjaneyulu responded that there had been no such issues. He clarified that he had fully cooperated with the investigation and expressed his readiness to be placed in police custody again if necessary.

However, P. Seetharam Anjaneyulu raised complaints about certain restrictions in jail. He stated that he was not being provided with religious books or the traditional forehead mark (bottu) materials needed for his worship practices. He also expressed concern that the number of allowed visits (mulaakats) for other inmates was reduced from five to three after his arrival, suggesting that his presence was inadvertently impacting the privileges of other prisoners. In response, the judge advised him to file a petition if he required any specific facilities in prison.

Meanwhile, a new case has been registered against P. Seetharam Anjaneyulu, who is already on remand in connection with the Mumbai actress case. Tadepalli police filed a case under Crime Number 56/2025 over alleged irregularities in the evaluation of Group-1 examination answer sheets conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission during the previous government’s tenure. The alleged evaluation took place at a location in Highland, Guntur district. Authorities have reportedly recorded statements from two individuals related to this case. The investigation has been entrusted to Nandigama ACP A.B.G. Tilak.

In a separate development, a petition filed by P. Seetharam Anjaneyulu seeking to quash a case registered against him by the Nagarampalem police in Guntur was heard by the High Court on Tuesday. The court directed the police to submit all relevant details pertaining to the case and postponed the hearing by one week.

Following the deposition in the ACB Court, police transferred P. Seetharam Anjaneyulu back to Vijayawada District Jail.
