Chandrababu abandons temporary capital city proposal

Hyderabad , April 3, 2013: The AP Government has shelved its plan to construct a temporary capital city to run the administration. Bowing to the demands of the employees who are seeking residential accommodation before shifting administration even on a temporary basis, the Government has decided not to go ahead with the temporary capital city proposal. "I can work sitting even under a tree but employees can not work without having proper accommodation. In such circumstances, their work efficiency also may suffer," Chandrababu Naidu observed on an occasion recently. Chandrababu now wants to shift the base of administration to the capital city area only after providing accommodation for the employees. The Chief Minister has also asked the Singapore government to include the residential quarters and offices also in the designs for the first phase of the capital city construction that will be completed before the next assembly elections.
