Padma Bhushan Award: Balakrishna Expresses Gratitude
Renowned actor and Hindupur Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Nandamuri Balakrishna has received the prestigious Padma Bhushan award. In a ceremony held yesterday in the national capital, New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu conferred the honour upon him. Attired traditionally in a dhoti, Nandamuri Balakrishna attended the Padma Awards presentation ceremony and shared his happiness with the media following the event.
Nandamuri Balakrishna expressed his joy upon receiving the award. He conveyed his gratitude to his fans and the Government of India. Nandamuri Balakrishna stated that while some fans often opined that he deserved this award long ago, he personally felt that the Padma Bhushan had arrived at the right time in his life.
He explained, "The consecutive success of four films in which I acted, the completion of fifteen years since the inauguration of Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital, and particularly, the completion of fifty years since my entry into the film industry make receiving this award at this juncture even more special."
