Vijay Devarakonda Faces Backlash from Tribal Associations Over Remarks

Tollywood actor Vijay Devarakonda has found himself embroiled in controversy following certain comments he made, which have drawn strong condemnation from tribal associations. They alleged that Vijay Devarakonda's statements demeaned them and demanded an immediate apology.

Recently, Vijay Devarakonda attended the pre-release event of a Tamil movie starring actor Suriya as the chief guest. During his speech at the event, Vijay Devarakonda referred to the Pahalgam incident in Kashmir. He stated that the solution lies in providing proper education to terrorists and changing their thought process. He remarked that the attacks in Kashmir were akin to the clashes involving tribal communities (tribals) 500 years ago.

Tribal associations have taken serious objection to Vijay Devarakonda’s use of the term "tribals." They stated that it was incorrect for Vijay Devarakonda to suggest that only tribals were involved in clashes 500 years ago. They expressed anguish over the comparison of the actions of terrorists to the historical struggles of tribal communities, claiming it was demeaning and disrespectful.

Representatives of the tribal associations strongly condemned Vijay Devarakonda’s comments. In this context, they demanded that Vijay Devarakonda immediately offer an unconditional apology to the tribal community. They urged him to retract his comments that hurt their sentiments. The leaders of the tribal associations warned that if Vijay Devarakonda does not issue an apology, they would not forgive him.
