High Court Imposes ₹20,000 Fine on Group-1 Petitioners

The Telangana High Court has imposed a fine of ₹20,000 each on 19 petitioners who filed a case challenging the evaluation process of the Group-1 Mains examination conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). The court found that the petitioners had submitted false affidavits and attempted to mislead the judiciary.

The petitioners, all candidates of the TSPSC Group-1 Mains examination, approached the High Court alleging irregularities in the evaluation process. They claimed that there were discrepancies between the marks stated in their individual mark memos and those displayed on the official website. The petitioners demanded a transparent re-evaluation of their answer sheets.

On Monday, Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka's bench heard the case. During the proceedings, the advocate representing TSPSC argued that the affidavits submitted by the petitioners contained errors and concealed material facts. These points were brought to the court’s attention as evidence of an attempt to mislead the bench.

After examining the submissions and preliminary evidence, the court concluded that the petitioners had deliberately submitted false affidavits. The bench expressed serious displeasure over the attempt to suppress facts and misguide the judiciary.

Consequently, the court issued orders imposing a fine of ₹20,000 on each petitioner. Additionally, the High Court instructed the Judicial Registrar to initiate legal action against the petitioners for submitting false documents.
