Chandrababu Naidu Announces Google’s Entry into Visakhapatnam

Amaravati: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu participated in the 'V-Launchpad 2025 – Startup Expo' held at VIT University in Amaravati. During the event, he inaugurated newly constructed buildings and interacted with students.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that the primary objective of his government is to ensure balanced development across all regions of the state. He said Visakhapatnam would be developed as the economic capital, while Tirupati would be shaped as the spiritual city. He explained that the government is moving forward with well-defined plans for the comprehensive development of the state.

Detailing development plans for Visakhapatnam, Chandrababu Naidu announced that a new airport and a metro rail project would be established in the city. He revealed that technology giant Google would soon be coming to Visakhapatnam. He also recalled that a steel plant already exists in the city and added that ArcelorMittal, a prominent steel company, has come forward to invest nearly ₹1 lakh crore in Anakapalli.

Chandrababu Naidu also mentioned that there are specific plans for the development of the Rayalaseema region. He assured that a steel plant would be set up in Rayalaseema as well. He said the area extending from Lepakshi in Anantapur district to Orvakal in Kurnool district would be developed into a knowledge hub. He elaborated that Rayalaseema would be promoted in key sectors such as defence, electronics, automobiles, drone technology, satellite launching, and green energy. Emphasizing the importance of drone technology for the future, he announced plans to establish a dedicated Drone City in Orvakal.

Chandrababu Naidu said the 'Make in India' initiative, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has significantly advanced the country’s hardware sector. He mentioned that the current value of this sector stands at USD 130 billion and expressed optimism that India would eventually reach the level of producing hardware worth USD 500 billion. He added that the benefits of this growth would also be extended to Andhra Pradesh.

VIT Students’ Questions – CM’s Responses

Students from VIT asked several questions related to development works in Amaravati, the establishment of new educational institutions in the state, and the use of IT and AI. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu responded to these queries and stated that the government is focused on advancing the state in all sectors while eradicating poverty and providing employment and livelihood opportunities for youth. He remarked that inspirational figures like N.T. Rama Rao, B.R. Ambedkar, and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam rose from humble beginnings and encouraged the youth to succeed in their chosen paths, inspired by such great individuals. He added that he always viewed politics as a path of service. He warned that seeking instant jackpots overnight is a form of greed, and stated that those who work hard and rise step-by-step in life will remain unshaken.
