Tensions with India: Nawaz Sharif Issues Key Advice to Shehbaz Sharif, Brother and PM of Pakistan
In light of the recent escalation of tensions with India, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has reportedly advised his younger brother and current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that it is best to pursue diplomatic solutions to the conflict. According to reports, Nawaz Sharif conveyed this suggestion during a meeting held at his residence, following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

“Both countries possess nuclear capabilities. Every available diplomatic channel must be utilized to establish peace between the two nations,” Nawaz Sharif is reported to have told Shehbaz Sharif. He is said to have urged the Prime Minister to exercise restraint during the current tense period and to move forward through dialogue.

Relations between India and Pakistan have deteriorated following a terrorist attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. In response to the incident, India made a series of strong decisions, including the suspension of the implementation of the Indus Waters Treaty and the immediate expulsion of Pakistani citizens from the country.

In retaliation, Pakistan not only announced the suspension of the Simla Agreement and other bilateral accords but also declared the closure of its airspace to Indian aircraft.
