Virat Kohli Creates New Record in IPL
Virat Kohli, the star player of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), continues his remarkable performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Known as a run-machine, Kohli has been in exceptional form this season, consistently scoring half-centuries. He has recorded six half-centuries in just ten matches so far.

This season, Kohli has scored 443 runs at an average of 63.29 from ten matches, earning him the Orange Cap for being the highest run-scorer in the tournament. In the process, he has set a new IPL record by becoming the only player to score 400 or more runs in 11 different seasons. Notably, no other player has reached this milestone even ten times.

Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner have each achieved the 400-run mark in nine seasons. They are followed by Rohit Sharma (8), AB de Villiers and KL Rahul (6 each), and Gautam Gambhir, Chris Gayle, Faf du Plessis, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav (5 each). Kohli also remains the highest run-scorer in IPL history, currently approaching the 8,500-run mark.

Is This the Year for Bangalore?
RCB has been dominant in IPL 2025, securing seven wins from ten matches and currently holding the top position on the points table. The team has been delivering strong performances even in away matches, securing decisive victories against opponents on their home grounds.

Both the Orange and Purple Caps are currently held by RCB players. Kohli claimed the Orange Cap after a standout performance against Delhi Capitals, while Josh Hazlewood took the Purple Cap for the highest number of wickets. Enthusiastic fans have taken to social media expressing hope that, if the team maintains its current form, the IPL title could finally belong to Bangalore this year.
