Actress Ashrita Vemuganti Makes Intriguing Remarks About Rajamouli

Actress Ashrita Vemuganti, who debuted in the Telugu film industry with the epic movie Baahubali, made noteworthy remarks about renowned director S.S. Rajamouli during a recent interview. Known for portraying mature characters despite her young age, Ashrita Vemuganti shared insights into her experiences working on the celebrated film and its impact on her career.

Ashrita revealed that she was only 27 years old during the production of Baahubali, but director S.S. Rajamouli portrayed her as a significantly older character. She explained that her plus-size physique made it easier to appear older on screen. “Rajamouli’s vision is remarkable,” said Ashrita Vemuganti, crediting him for helping her earn widespread recognition.

However, she stated that post-Baahubali, she continued to be offered only similar roles. She attributed this trend to her physical appearance, which led filmmakers to cast her predominantly in mature roles. “Even though I’m younger, I’ve been compelled to play older characters,” she said, noting that in the same films, actors older than her were being cast in younger roles.

Ashrita expressed frustration over being typecast and said she often found it difficult to accept such roles. She noted that others in the industry try to convince her that actors should be willing to portray any character, which has led her to accept roles she would otherwise prefer to decline.

Despite these challenges, Ashrita acknowledged that she gained significant recognition through films such as MCA, Krack, Dear Comrade, Yatra, and Animal, following her performance in Baahubali.
