IPL 2024: Mayank Yadav Returns as Lucknow Bowl First Against Mumbai
As part of today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) double-header, the first match is being held between the Mumbai Indians and the Lucknow Super Giants. The fixture is taking place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Having won the toss, the Lucknow Super Giants opted to bowl first.

A change was made in the Lucknow Super Giants lineup for this match. Express pace bowler Mayank Yadav has been brought in, replacing Shardul Thakur. Mayank Yadav had delivered consistently at speeds exceeding 150 km/h during the previous IPL season, unsettling batters with his fiery spells. However, he had been sidelined from cricket for a considerable period due to injury. Now, having regained full fitness, he is making his return to competitive action.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya announced that two changes had been made to their playing XI. Karn Sharma and Corbin Bosch have replaced Mitchell Santner and Vignesh Puthur. This match marks Corbin Bosch’s debut in the IPL.

So far in the tournament, Mumbai Indians have played nine matches and secured five victories, placing them fifth on the points table. Although the Lucknow Super Giants have also won five out of their nine matches, they are currently in sixth place due to a lower net run rate.
