“If My Son Is Among the Killers, Shoot Him on the Spot,” Says Terrorist Adil’s Mother
Shahzada Bano, the mother of terrorist Adil Hussain Thokar, made an emotional appeal stating that if her son is among the perpetrators of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, he should be shot dead on the spot. She urged Adil to surrender to the police, sending a heartfelt message through the media: “Surrender, my son… let us all live in peace.”

Following the deadly attack in Pahalgam, security forces raided Shahzada Bano’s home in search of Adil and subsequently demolished the house. Reflecting on the events, she said that Adil had gone out in 2018 claiming he was heading to write an exam and never returned. She added that a missing persons complaint had been filed at the local police station at the time.

Shahzada Bano noted that her son might not be involved in the attack and claimed that the sketches released by the authorities do not match his appearance. She said that Adil used to be a dedicated student, a sentiment echoed by local residents.

According to intelligence sources, Adil travelled to Pakistan in 2018 on a study visa, where he is believed to have come into contact with terrorist groups. Authorities suspect that he may have re-entered India through the Line of Control in 2024.

In the wake of the attack, security forces detained several of Adil’s family members, including his father Waleem Mohammad Thokar, brothers Jahir and Arshlam, and cousins Julankar and Sajjad. Lamenting her current plight, Shahzada Bano said her husband and sons are in custody, her house has been demolished, and she is left to face an uncertain future.
