Supreme Court Setback for Borugadda Anil

Borugadda Anil, a supporter of the YSR Congress Party and a known rowdy-sheeter, faced a significant legal setback as the Supreme Court of India declined to grant him interim bail. The apex court dismissed his petition on the grounds that Borugadda Anil had allegedly misled the judiciary during a previous instance when interim bail had been granted.

Citing this behavior, the Supreme Court bench made it clear that the matter should be resolved in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. As a result, Borugadda Anil will now be compelled to approach the High Court once again to pursue bail, effectively closing the door on any immediate legal relief from the country’s highest court.

In parallel, a case continues against Borugadda Anil concerning allegations of making inappropriate remarks about members of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s family. This case was registered in 2023 following a complaint filed by Telugu Desam Party leader Tejaswini. Recently, Borugadda Anil was produced before a court in Anantapur in connection with this case.
