IPL 2025: Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal Shine as RCB Posts Massive Total

Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a formidable total in their match against Rajasthan Royals after losing the toss and being asked to bat first. The match took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal delivered stellar half-centuries, supported by aggressive cameos from Tim David and Jitesh Sharma. RCB concluded their innings with 205 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

The opening partnership between Phil Salt and Virat Kohli gave Royal Challengers Bangalore a strong start, accumulating 61 runs for the first wicket. Phil Salt contributed 26 runs before being dismissed as the first wicket. Virat Kohli, maintaining his superb form, scored 70 runs from 42 deliveries, which included eight boundaries and two sixes.

Devdutt Padikkal impressed with a brisk 50 off just 27 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes. Tim David played a quick knock of 23 runs from 15 balls, striking two boundaries and a six. Jitesh Sharma remained unbeaten after a dynamic performance, scoring 20 runs from just 10 deliveries, including four boundaries.

RCB captain Rajat Patidar was dismissed for a single-digit score, managing just one run. Among Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers, Sandeep Sharma took two wickets, while Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga claimed one wicket each. Tim David was run out on the final delivery of the innings.
