Former MP Gorantla Madhav in Police Custody for Two-Day Interrogation
Former YSR Congress Party Member of Parliament Gorantla Madhav has been taken into custody by Guntur police for a two-day interrogation. Madhav, currently a remand prisoner in Rajahmundry Central Jail, has been transferred to Guntur for questioning in connection with a case involving allegations of attempting to assault a man already in police custody.

The case stems from an incident that occurred recently in Guntur. Nagarampalem police had earlier filed charges against Gorantla Madhav, accusing him of attempting to attack an individual named Chebrolu Kiran, who was under police custody at the time. He is also alleged to have obstructed police vehicles during the incident. Madhav has been in judicial remand at Rajahmundry Central Jail since April 10 in connection with these accusations.

As part of their ongoing investigation, Guntur police approached the court seeking custody of Gorantla Madhav to obtain further information. Upon receiving the court’s approval, police reached Rajahmundry Central Jail on Tuesday, took custody of Madhav from the jail authorities, and transported him to Guntur under special escort.

In addition to Madhav, police have reportedly taken five other accused individuals into custody in relation to the same case.

During the two-day interrogation, police intend to question Madhav on the circumstances of the alleged incident, the factors that led up to it, and the involvement of other accused individuals. Once the custody period concludes, Madhav is expected to be returned to Rajahmundry Central Jail. Guntur police have intensified the investigation into the case.
