Pahalgam Massacre: Viral Image Captures Grief of Survivor Beside Husband’s Body

A horrifying incident occurred in Pahalgam, a prominent tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. Armed militants indiscriminately opened fire targeting tourists, turning the entire region into a scene of chaos and fear. According to unofficial sources, at least 26 people have reportedly lost their lives in the attack. However, the exact death toll is yet to be confirmed.

Several critically injured individuals have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities expressed concern that the number of fatalities may rise, as some of the injured are in serious condition.

Heart-wrenching scenes emerged from the site of the attack. Tourists fled in terror to escape the gunfire. One woman’s desperate cry, “Please save my husband... bring him back alive,” echoed the horror of the moment. A short while later, she was seen sitting helplessly beside her husband’s lifeless body—a photo of this haunting moment has now gone viral on the internet. Many have expressed deep sympathy for her situation.

Another woman was seen with a blood-stained face, looking on helplessly. “We were having breakfast when a man suddenly approached and shot my husband,” said a grieving victim, as seen in videos circulating on social media. The pleas of others, begging for their injured loved ones to be taken to the hospital, have moved many to tears.

Reports indicate that among the deceased is a real estate businessman from Shivamogga district in Karnataka. Militants are said to have carried out the brutal attack in front of his wife and son.
