Pope Francis Dies at 88 After Battling Health Complications
Pope Francis, the head of the Roman Catholic Church and a spiritual leader revered by millions of Christians around the world, has passed away at the age of 88. According to official confirmation from Vatican sources, he breathed his last at 7:35 AM on Monday, Italian time, at his residence, Casa Santa Marta, within the Vatican.

Pope Francis had been suffering from respiratory issues, double pneumonia, and kidney-related ailments for some time. In February, he was hospitalized and underwent treatment for 38 days before being discharged just last month. Born in Argentina, he made history as the first Pope from South America. Widely known as the "People’s Pope," he was recognized for consistently voicing his concern on social issues.

In a remarkable turn of events, only hours before his death, Pope Francis delivered an Easter message to thousands of devotees gathered at Saint Peter’s Square. It was the first time he had appeared before such a large public gathering since falling ill. His death has plunged the global Catholic community into mourning. Cardinal Farrell, in announcing the Pope's death, stated that Pope Francis' life was wholly devoted to serving the Lord and the Church.
