Online Gaming Addiction Leads to Tragedy in Sri Sathya Sai District

Another young man has fallen victim to online gaming. After becoming addicted to online games and losing a significant amount of money, he took his own life, with no other options left. The incident occurred in the Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh.

According to the police report, the deceased was identified as Jayachandra, a 23-year-old resident of Paideti village in the Parigi mandal. He had completed his degree and, two years ago, started operating a dairy in his village.

Jayachandra had accumulated a debt of approximately ₹3 lakh to dairy farmers for the milk he had procured, which led to mounting pressure from them. Simultaneously, he had become addicted to online gaming and incurred an additional loss of ₹3 lakh through borrowed funds. Consequently, he shut down the dairy a month ago.

On Saturday, he informed his family that he was going to Bengaluru in search of a job. However, that same night, he died by suicide on the railway tracks near Guddam, within the limits of Hindupur town. Upon receiving the information, the police recovered the body and informed the family members.

Before taking his life, Jayachandra reportedly wrote a warning on his shirt urging others not to play online games. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
