14-Year-Old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Stunning Debut: 34 Runs with Impact
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals set a new record in the Indian Premier League with his debut appearance at just 14 years and 23 days old. He became the youngest-ever player to debut in the IPL, surpassing the previous record held by Prayas Ray Barman, who had played his first match at the age of 16 years and 157 days. Barman had represented Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2019 season.
Sooryavanshi made his debut last night during a match against Lucknow Super Giants. Although he was not part of the starting eleven, he entered the field as an Impact Player. He made an impressive start by hitting a six off the very first ball he faced. Over the course of 20 balls, he scored 34 runs, which included two fours and three sixes.
Hailing from Bihar, Sooryavanshi was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals franchise for ₹1.10 crore during the IPL mega auction held last year. With this, he also set another record by becoming the youngest player ever to be sold at an IPL auction.
