Google Maps Error Leads to Near-Tragedy on Unfinished Bridge in Indonesia
Google Maps, when viewed through a technological lens, is an extraordinary invention. It is no ordinary feat that satellites orbiting in space can provide navigation to people on Earth. However, like any technology, it is not without flaws. Google Maps is no exception to this.
Blind trust in Google Maps can sometimes lead to unintended destinations. There have been instances where individuals, while following Google Maps, have ended up in lakes or forests. There are even reports of people losing their lives by driving onto half-constructed roads while relying solely on the app. A recent incident falls squarely within this pattern.
In Indonesia, a couple was navigating their route using Google Maps. After traveling a short distance, their BMW car drove onto a bridge. But as they continued forward, the vehicle suddenly fell off the structure. The reason: the bridge was only partially constructed. The car plunged downward as if it had made a long jump, landing on a road below. Fortunately, the Indonesian couple escaped with only minor injuries. A video of the incident is now going viral on social media.
