Despite 27M Instagram Followers, Pooja Hegde Says Few Watch Her Films

Kannada actress Pooja Hegde, despite a lull in Telugu cinema opportunities, continues to receive offers in Bollywood. Once hailed as a star within a short span in the Telugu film industry, Pooja Hegde’s rapid rise was followed by an equally swift decline in opportunities. Currently, she is working in two Bollywood films.

Recently, Pooja Hegde shared candid remarks on social media about her online following. She stated that although she has 27 million followers on Instagram, that popularity does not translate to theatre footfalls.

“Even superstars have fewer than 5 million followers, but their films attract millions of people to theatres,” said Pooja Hegde. She emphasized that having a large social media following does not necessarily mean those followers will show up at cinemas for one’s films.
