ECI Announces Rajya Sabha By-Election Schedule in Andhra Pradesh

The Election Commission of India has officially announced the schedule for a by-election to fill a vacant Rajya Sabha seat from Andhra Pradesh. The vacancy arose following the resignation of V. Vijayasai Reddy, who previously served as a Rajya Sabha member representing the YSRCP.

As per the released schedule, the official notification for the by-election will be issued shortly. Candidates may file their nominations up to April 29, as clarified by the Election Commission. The scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 30. The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is set for May 2.

The Election Commission of India further stated that polling will be conducted on May 9, from morning until evening. Vote counting will begin the same day at 5 PM, immediately following the close of polling, and the results will be announced thereafter.
