ICC Confirms Committee Leadership with Ganguly and Campbell at Helm

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reappointed former India captain Sourav Ganguly as the Chairperson of the Men’s Cricket Committee. The ICC also announced the reappointment of Ganguly’s former teammate VVS Laxman as a member of the same committee.

Sourav Ganguly, who led the Indian national cricket team from 2000 to 2005, was first appointed to the position in 2021, succeeding legendary spinner Anil Kumble. Ganguly, now 52 years old, will continue to serve in this role for another three-year term.

Alongside Ganguly and VVS Laxman, several other notable figures have been appointed as members of the Men’s Cricket Committee. These include former Afghanistan player Hamid Hassan, West Indies batting legend Desmond Haynes, South Africa’s Test and One Day International captain Temba Bavuma, and former England batter Jonathan Trott.

In a parallel announcement, the ICC also named the leadership of the Women’s Cricket Committee. Former New Zealand off-spinner Catherine Campbell has been appointed as the Chairperson. The committee will also include former Australia player Avril Fahey and Pholetsi Moseki of Cricket South Africa (CSA) as members.
