Retired IPS Officer AB Venkateswara Rao Steps into Politics

Retired IPS officer and former Chief of State Intelligence AB Venkateswara Rao has officially announced his entry into active politics, declaring that he is doing so with the intention of striving for a better society. He emphasized that he holds no ambitions for positions of power.
Addressing the media after visiting the family of Srinu—the accused in the infamous “kodikatti” (rooster knife) attack case—at Thaneylanka village in Mummidivaram mandal, Konaseema district, AB Venkateswara Rao stated, “When I retired from service, I promised to dedicate myself to the welfare of society as long as I remained physically capable. I am entering politics to fulfill that commitment.”
In a subsequent press meet held in Amalapuram, AB Venkateswara Rao strongly criticized the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. “I have no personal enmity with Jagan Mohan Reddy. He did what he had to, and I fought my battle. That chapter is closed. This is a new chapter,” he said, while asserting that he would expose the alleged wrongdoings of the former Chief Minister Jagan's government.
“We will reveal Jagan’s atrocities one by one. His illegal financial empire began with Sandur Power and has grown to thousands of crores. Hundreds of crores in suspicious foreign funds have flowed into that company. That is public money. We will legally recover every rupee of the stolen wealth,” AB Venkateswara Rao alleged.
Referring to the kodikatti Srinu incident, he said that the Jagan administration had falsely charged Srinu with crimes typically reserved for terrorists, pushing his life into darkness by denying him bail for six years. “He was the first person to be sacrificed for Jagan. There are hundreds, even thousands, of such victims under this government. I will do my part to help them and wipe away their tears,” he stated.
He encouraged any victims of former Jagan Mohan Reddy’s governance to contact him with information and shared a dedicated WhatsApp number: 7816020048.
AB Venkateswara Rao further alleged that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy poses the biggest threat to the state. “Under his rule, Andhra Pradesh has suffered irreparable damage. For Jagan, politics is a business. The destruction he caused over the last five years is immense. He wasted valuable time and divided people along caste and communal lines,” he claimed.
He concluded by appealing for public support in his new political journey.
