Indian-Owned Pharma Warehouse in Kyiv Destroyed in Russian Attack
Russia has reportedly launched a missile attack on an Indian pharmaceutical warehouse in Ukraine, despite its assertions of maintaining a special friendship with India, according to Ukraine’s Ambassador. The strike occurred on Saturday morning, targeting the warehouse of prominent pharmaceutical company Kusum in Kyiv. The Ambassador stated that the facility was completely destroyed in the attack.
He further explained that the warehouse stored critical medicines for children and the elderly, and expressed deep anguish over the total devastation of the facility. He also alleged that this was not an isolated incident, claiming that Russian attacks have increasingly targeted Indian business establishments across Ukraine.
In response to the incident, the British Embassy in Ukraine posted a statement on social media. It confirmed the attack on the warehouse of a leading pharmaceutical company in Kyiv, but clarified that it was not a missile strike. Instead, the Embassy stated that Russian drones had targeted the warehouse. It also noted that the warehouse contained emergency medicines intended for children and the elderly.
According to official sources, Kusum Pharma—one of Ukraine’s leading pharmaceutical companies—is owned by Indian national Rajeev Gupta. As of now, Rajeev Gupta has not made any public statement regarding the attack on the warehouse.
