Political Jolt for YSRCP as Jana Sena Secures Nidadavolu Municipality

In a significant political shift in Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP has lost control of yet another municipality. The latest setback comes from East Godavari district, where the Nidadavolu Municipality has now come under the control of the Jana Sena Party.

The Nidadavolu Municipality comprises a total of 28 councillors. Among them, 27 were previously affiliated with the YSRCP, and one was from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). In a dramatic turn of events, 14 of the councillors from the YSRCP have now joined the Jana Sena Party. As a result, the Jana Sena Party has secured a majority, effectively taking control of the municipality.

This development marks a fresh blow to the YSRCP, which has already lost grip over several municipalities and municipal corporations across the state. The defection of councillors and the shift in control has reportedly caused disquiet among YSRCP cadres.
