Major Earthquake Strikes Pakistan; Felt in Jammu and Kashmir

A powerful earthquake struck Pakistan this afternoon, shaking areas near Rawalpindi and causing tremors as far as Jammu and Kashmir. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 1:00 PM and had a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter was located approximately 60 kilometers from Rawalpindi, at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface. The tremors were felt across a wide region, including parts of northern India.
As of now, no reports have been issued regarding casualties or property damage. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation for any developments.
In response to the earthquake, Pakistani authorities temporarily reduced the speed of train services as a precautionary measure. However, all railway operations are continuing without disruption.
