UPI Services Disrupted Once Again

UPI Services Disrupted Once Again

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services faced another disruption across India, with users reporting widespread outages. Popular payment applications such as PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm were reportedly non-functional during the incident. Several users took to social media platforms to express frustration over the interruption, stating that UPI transactions were not going through and that they were receiving messages indicating slow network connectivity.

According to outage tracking website Down Detector, by around 12 PM, more than 1,000 users had reported issues related to UPI service disruptions.

This is not the first time such problems have surfaced. UPI payment services have experienced frequent interruptions in recent times. On the 26th of the previous month, a similar situation arose, which the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) had then attributed to technical reasons. Furthermore, on the 2nd of the current month, UPI services were briefly disrupted once again.

With another disruption now occurring within a short span of days, concerns over the reliability of the UPI payment system have resurfaced. As of now, the NPCI has not issued any official response regarding the latest incident.
